The Year of Literature in Russia 2015: Opening of the exhibition “Revived poetry and prose: Illustrations for literary works from the Simferopol Art Museum collections”

In the Republic of Crimea opened the exhibition "Revived poetry and prose: Illustrations for literary works from the Simferopol Art Museum collections."

The exhibition features 147 works of graphic art. The centerpiece of the exhibition is a monographic series by a Crimean artist working in modern style Mikhail Kazas (1889-1918).

The exhibition also displays a gallery of portraits of prominent Russian writers and artists of the 18th -19th centuries, such as Denis Fonvizin, Gavrila Derzhavin, Alexander Orlovsky and illustrated editions of the 19th century from the rare books collection of the Simferopol Art Museum library ("The Tale of Igor’s Campaign", the works of Alexander Pushkin, editions of N. Gnedich).

The exhibition will run until November 15, 2015
