The exhibition “Russia on the Road / Russia. January 22, the exhibition will open at the site of the Institute of Russian realist art in Moscow. As part of the project the Institute contributed to elaboration of an educational program initiated by the History Department, Lomonosov State University (Moscow) and La Sapienza University (Rome, Italy).
The new exhibition features some sixty paintings and graphics of the 20th century, as well as works by contemporary artists from the collections of major museums in Russia and private collections. The audience will not only see famous masterpieces by Alexander Deineka, Yuri Pimenov, Alexander Samokhvalov, George Nissky, Alexander Labas, but will also be offered a completely new art - painting and graphic by the artists of the sixties. This art, which had long remained behind the "iron curtain", now makes itself known at the best exhibition venues in Europe and reveals the Russian art in a new way, awakening a genuine interest of both the professionals and the inexperienced viewers.
