Museums of Russia: Celebrations to mark 50th anniversary of the foundation of the first museum in the Kulikovo Field
October 14, 2015 at Kulikovo field are held celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the first museum. On this day, in a new museum complex "Field of the Battle of Kulikovo" will be opened the exhibition "Victory Parade" and on the territory will be laid the memorial garden.
The tradition and memorialization and museumification of the battle of Kulikovo dates back to the era of Emperor Alexander I. In 1950, the question was raised about the establishment of a branch of the Tula Regional Museum on the Kulikovo Field, which was organized on the Red Hill in 1965.
The large-scale work on creation of exposition of the Battle of Kulikovo at the site of the battle was launched to celebrate the 600th anniversary. In 1980, specialists of the State Historical Museum and the Tula regional museum created the exposition in the church of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
The baton to preserve the memory of the events of 1380 was taken by the state museum-reserve "Kulikovo Field". It was created by the Government Decree № 1204 of 14.10.1996 "On the creation and measures to ensure the activities of the State military historical and natural museum-reserve "Kulikovo Field" in the Tula region" within the implementation of public policies for the conservation and improvement of a special kind national shrines - "Fields military glory of the Fatherland" (Kulikovo field - the field of Borodino - Prokhorovka field). It is symbolic that in the half-century anniversary of the first museum of Kulikovo completing the construction of the new museum complex "Field of the Battle of Kulikovo".
The exhibition "Victory Parade" accompanies the anniversary year of the 70th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War. It is dedicated to the events of a single day - 24 June 1945 became a symbol of the main holiday of Russians - Victory Day.
The exhibition tells the story of the final days of the war, about the preparation for the parade in late May - June 1945, the people who participated in the parade - those who walked in the composition and the head of combined regiments of the fronts 10, who stood on the podium of the Mausoleum and guests.
The exhibition features unique materials from the collections of the State Historical Museum. Among them - the materials, illustrating the path of combat commanders 10 fronts, and banners that the head of combined regiments on parade bore. Relics of the war years for the exhibition were also provided by the Uzlovsky art museum.
