Society and culture: The exhibition “Returned to life by the hands of restorers” in Vladimir

The exhibition “Returned to life by the hands of restorers” was opened in Chambers of the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve.

The museum houses a rich collection of historical, artistic and cultural monuments. Their conservation and display in exhibitions are not possible without the participation of professional restorers.

The exhibition is devoted to the work of specialists of the department of restoration of the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve. Here are a variety of artifacts that have passed through the hands of restorers in the last decade, and sometimes literally been returned from oblivion.

The circle in the exhibition sites is very wide: archaeological finds, icons and paintings, books and objects, clothes and jewelry, and various household items. Some works have not been previously exhibited at the museum, but most of the exhibits are shown for the first time.

The proposed exhibition allows illuminating a complex of creative processes of the restoration of the museum, which is often in itself is an art and offers visitors a rare opportunity to see the individual operations of a complex process of restoration, as well as a wide range of possibilities of modern restorers, their timid and skillful hands directly in the case.
