The Year of Literature in Russia-2015: The novel “War and Peace” by Leo Tolstoy to be read live

VGTRK Holding in December will launch the "War and Peace. Let us read the novel" - within 60 hours of TV channels "Russia K", "Russia 1", the radio station "Mayak", as well as in the Internet will be a live broadcast of the reading of the epic novel by Leo Tolstoy.

Reading is scheduled for 8, 9, 10 and 11 December 2015, one novel the day. The start of the reading of each volume - at 10.00 MSK.

By reading is planned to attract both professionals: actors, directors, TV and radio, as well as non-professional readers: politicians, athletes, scientists, public figures, people of different professions, ages, known and unknown, from all corners of our country and around the world.

Total will be involved more than 1,300 readers, say the organizers of the project. The broadcast will involve many cities of the country and the world, located in different time zones: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Smolensk, Vologda, Kazan, Grozny, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Pyatigorsk, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Rostov-na -Don, Samara, Sochi, Yaroslavl, Berlin, Paris, Vienna, Beijing, Washington and others. 

Venues for the readings will be equipped with theaters, museums, historical buildings, some of which are related to the text of the novel, for example, the Museum-Estate of Leo Tolstoy "Yasnaya Polyana".

The project is implemented with the support of the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications and will take place in the framework of the declared by President of Russia the Year of Literature-2015.
