Information technology and culture: The exhibits from the collection of the Museum of the Bolshoi Theatre digitized

 “Electronic Archive” Corporation has digitized artifacts from the museum of the Bolshoi Theater. Into electronic form are transmitted more than 4,000 still images and over 1000 hand-written documents and sketches. Among the most valuable collections of materials - photographs and manuscripts of great Russian ballet master and teacher of Alexander Gorsky.

Alexander Gorsky – a unique man in the world of the Moscow Ballet, choreographer, raised the Bolshoi Theater for the unprecedented height for the early 20th century, an innovator choreographer. Photos from the archive of the great choreographer, his manuscripts and sketches, as well as other valuable exhibits were scanned by ELAR experts. The museum plans to use the digital copies of these photographs and documents to fill accounting system KAMIS, release albums and exhibitions.

Other materials have been digitized from the fund of the Museum of the Bolshoi Theater, reflecting the history of opera and ballet.
