30 November 2015

Jerusalem museum "Tower of David" (Israel) has received for a virtual tour through its halls the bronze medal during the closing ceremony of the international conference AVICOM (International Committee of the audio-visual and sound technology), which was held in Budapest in November of this year.

A virtual tour allows viewers to enjoy the stunning views of Jerusalem, the restored citadel and visit the guard room, which houses a permanent exhibition devoted to the history of Jerusalem.

A virtual tour with commentaries of a guide and a 360 degrees’ view allows you visiting the museum in the Tower of David from your sofa at home. Virtual tourists will get acquainted with the archeological excavations and with three thousand years of the history of Jerusalem. People who may have never visited Jerusalem, will be able to see the city and take a look at its history.

Virtual tour of the Tower of Museum of David was the only such project, presented at the conference from Israel and only in the Middle East in general. Tower of David Museum has expanded the range of opportunities for exploring Jerusalem and exposition Museum in 2015: the tourist can download mobile applications that enable him to see the "augmented reality" during the tour and get more information about the exhibits.

For adults and children there is the opportunity to enjoy a virtual tour of the museum by scanning QR codes at the exhibits. For children there is also based on QR codes "treasure hunt". Virtual tour is part of a new mobile website of the museum, which was launched in January 2015.

Virtual tour of the Tower of David in Jerusalem is three thousand years history of the city, 23 panoramic views from the citadel and close to real tour of the museum.

In March 2016 at the Museum Tower of David in Israel for the first time will be held a conference AVICOM, which will examine the "digitization" of museum exhibits.
