Peoples of the world: The exhibition “Literature, bringing together peoples” was opened in the Tauride Palace in Saint-Petersburg

November 27, 2015 in the autumn 43d session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of States - members of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the Tauride Palace (St. Petersburg) was opened an exhibition "Literature Bringing Nations Together", based on materials from the collections of the National Library of Russia.

Stands of the exhibition are devoted to the literary heritage of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine. The purpose of the exhibition – to show the diversity of literatures of the peoples of the CIS and the national originality of the artistic experience, to acquaint visitors with the authors whose works have become literary classics.

Presented literary models include folklore and the epic, poetry and prose, as well as moral and philosophical works that reflect the characteristics and main stages of the formation of the national character of each country. The exhibition is organized within the framework of the Year of Literature in Russia.
