History and culture: The exhibition “From the history of the military uniform” in Belgorod

In the Belgorod State Historical and Art Museum-diorama "Battle of Kursk. The Belgorod direction" took place the opening of the exhibition "From the history of military uniforms" from the collection of the Museum of the military uniforms of the Ministry of Defense of Russia (the Moscow region), a branch of the Central Museum of the Armed Forces.

The exhibition presents numerous examples of military uniforms, allows us to trace the evolution of military equipment. Visitors of the exhibition will see a soldier's uniform of the times of Peter I of the Life Guards Preobrazhensky regiment, military suit of sample of 1786 of the times of Catherine II, the so-called "Potemkin uniform", pelisse and dolman, shakos, cartouche and sabretache.

Authentic samples of Old Russian army uniforms are on display side by side with the exhibits of the Soviet period: the Red Army budyonovka, tunic prewar type turn-down collar, the shape of the sample in 1943 of the Victory Parade, the Soviet army uniforms of 80s of the XX century.

The exhibition will run till the end of February 2016.
