Museums and society: Conference “Museum and education: contexts and perspectives of cooperation” in Saint-Petersburg

November 18-20, 2015 in Mikhailovsky Castle (Saint Petersburg) is held the Scientific-practical conference "Museum and Education: contexts and prospects of cooperation" dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the department of "Russian Centre of museum pedagogic and children's creativity" of the State Russian Museum, which welcomes representatives of major Russian and foreign museums. 

During the three-day conference, experts will address issues of art education and creative development of the personality, the range of competences of the modern museum specialist, information and communication technologies in the arts and art education of the XXI century, the criteria for evaluation of processes and outcomes of arts education and creative development in the museum environment.

At the conference will be for the first time presented a draft of the Russian Centre of pedagogy and children creativity of the State Russian Museum "East guardhouse - the territory of the creative confidence". On the three floors of the building will be housed the cognitive area, which is based on the information potential library (books, multimedia resources), supplemented by electronic equipment (interactive whiteboard, the demonstration plasma, interactive table), and specially designed teaching materials and games; area artistic and creative activity, equipped with multifunctional furniture, art and teaching materials that will solve various creative tasks in accordance with the age characteristics of children and the leisure zone - an informal space, complemented by a specially designed gaming component. The title also includes space hall of mass communications, workshops and showrooms.  

As part of the conference will also be opened an exhibition dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Foundation of Children's Art of the Russian museum and held a seminar on the theme "Children's work in the museum: questions of museology, psychology and creative activity", followed by a discussion of the issues of storage, study and exhibition of children's drawings, as well as the specifics of teaching in museum studios.
