November 10, 2015 in the Ryazan Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve was held the grand opening of the international exhibition "For Faith and Fatherland! People and fates in the Great War of 1914-1918", prepared under the same name of the cultural and artistic project for the centenary anniversary of the First World War.
The project aims to restore the historical memory of the role of Russia, Serbia and France in First World War and to strengthen national identity.
As part of the project and the preparation for the organization of the exhibition the Ryazan Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve held a campaign "Let things tell their story!" calling Ryazan citizens to provide heirlooms related to the Great War for temporary display at an international exhibition. As a result, visitors can see a unique diary of memories of war participant A. N. Zagorodny, as well as photos, cards, postcards and journalistic publications during the First World War, including the famous weekly magazine "Annals of the 1914 war". From its own funds for the exhibition the Museum-Reserve has provided photographs and personal belongings of the participants of the tragic events of 1914-1918.
The exhibition "For Faith and Fatherland! People and fates in the Great War of 1914-1918" will run in the Ryazan Kremlin until 17 December. Its foundation is made of paintings of Serbian artists Isidora Ivanovic and Dragan Bartula and People's Artist of Russia, sculptor Vladimir Surovtsev - think of modern man to the events of the First World War. The exposition is complemented with photos and videos, as well as original historic artifacts from Serbia, Russia and France during the First World War, reflecting historical events and close relations between the three countries.
