International events: The IX International Cinema Festival “Russian abroad” in Moscow

From 7 to 14 November 2015 in the Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of Russian Abroad (Moscow) is held the IX International Festival "Russian abroad", the first and only festival in Russia, which focuses on - the theme of the Russian world abroad. 

This year the contest program of the festival includes 4 gaming and non-gaming 16 films, 18 more paintings will be shown out of competition. In addition, there will be information displays. The festival "Russian abroad" is attended by Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, France, the USA, Australia, Switzerland, Turkey, Estonia.

Each of the festival paintings tells the story of the world of Russian people, Russian culture that exists outside the country. Focus on films - prominent figures of culture, art, science, and ordinary people in difficult times.

Subjects of the paintings of the festival tell the story of Marina Tsvetaeva, Anna Akhmatova, Joseph Brodsky, Sergei Dovlatov, passengers of "Philosophical boat", painters, artists, engineers, scientists of Russian origin, who left a rich legacy. Pictures will acquaint with the life of the Russian people during the world wars, to the Russian cities in China with populations of Old Believers, with the life of Orthodox parishes in other countries. Movies are interesting not only for its subjects but also in terms of the artistic and technical features. So, a surprise for the viewer will display the painting "Great War discord", which is a dramatic built 3D-stereoscopic never published early twentieth century photographs from private archives about the everyday life of the First World War. A separate block of the non-competitive program is devoted to the 70th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism.
