Information technology and museums: Historical books of the Museum-Reserve “Lenin Hills” digitized
“Electronic Archive” Corporation has completed the scanning of inventory books of the Museum-Reserve "Lenin Hills". The digitization will enable the museum to optimize the processes of registration and storage of funds.
The collection of the Museum-Reserve has more than 60 000 items, of which more than 50 000 - items of fixed assets. The museum's collection - unique pieces of art by Russian and foreign masters of the XVIII-XX centuries: paintings and sculptures, furniture, arts and crafts. Hills are also the sole custodian of the objective world of Lenin, which surrounded it during the Soviet era. In one of the houses of the manor complex is the Museum of peasant life.
Inventory books allow you to see the history of each object from the museum collection. "The information, contained in the records unique, is invaluable and constantly in demand by specialists of the museum, - says Igor Boev, chief curator of the Museum "Lenin Hills" - transferring inventory of books in digital format will once again not to injure them in use, and museum professionals. It will be more convenient to work with information in electronic form. Moreover, during the scanning inventory books will be followed by their retro conversion for future load resource information system KAMIS. And then the data will be transferred to the State Catalogue of the Museum Fund of the Russian Federation".
As part of the project will be also conducted an inventory of the book retro conversion of the House Museum in Gorki and 5 volumes of books of the library and the Cabinet of Lenin in the Kremlin.
