
Information technology and libraries: Book from rare and local history collections will be digitized at the Inter-settlement Central library of the Chekhov district
In the Inter-settlement Central Library of the Chekhov District (Moscow region) they started scanning rare books by a planetary scanner ElarSKAN A2.
There will also be scanned the documents from the local history collection, which contains 3,000 items. In addition, the sets of the local newspaper "Chekhov Bulletin" published since 1954 will be digitized as well. In the future, all the digitized documents will be made available to readers on the library website.
Currently, the Chekhov Central Library is a public informational, cultural and leisure center, and at the same time, a methodological platform for the 21 libraries of the city and the district. Every year, the library is attended by more than 10, 000 visitors. Availability of a large part of the collections in electronic form will be relevant to readers.
