Memorable dates of Russia: The exhibition “Beauty Genius. To the 240th anniversary of K. I. Rossi” in Vladimir

In the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve (Vladimir, Cultural and Educational Center "Chamber") is opened the traveling exhibition "Beauty Genius. To the 240-th anniversary of Carlo Rossi".

2015 marks 240 years since the birth of St. Petersburg architect Carl Ivanovich Rossi (1775-1849) - the brightest representative of high classicism. Being an incredibly talented man, the architect showed himself to be a consummate draftsman, creator of core assemblies, the great architect, a pioneer in the field of construction and engineering practice, a brilliant master of interior decoration and author of projects of objects of decorative and applied arts.

Retrospective exhibition "Beauty Genius. To the 240th anniversary of K. I. Rossi" is designed to show the scale of the creative personality of the architect as a master of the ensemble approach, the creator of the unique palace and park ensemble of the central streets and squares of St. Petersburg, determine its unique look.

The exhibition includes copies of sheets of the original architectural graphics and photos of C. I. Rossi from the collection of the Research Museum of the Academy of Arts, the National Library of Russia, the the Russian State Military History Archive (Moscow); original and printed graphics with views of Tver, Rybinsk, St. Petersburg, scenes depicting the construction of the architect in the urban environment, from the collection of the State Museum of History of St. Petersburg, the Yelagin Palace Museum Russian arts and crafts and interior of the XVIII-XX centuries; layout planning of city building sites and neighborhoods of St. Petersburg, models of individual buildings and facades famous architectural ensembles. The exhibition is complemented with graphic works of the artist and restorer L. A. Lyubimov to project recreating paintings made by painters A. Whighi and drawings by J. Scott K. Rossi, in the Yelagin Palace Museum; details of architectural facades and interior of the palace, pieces of furniture and original decoration items interior decoration of the Alexandrinsky Theatre.

The Presidential Library is among the participants and partners of the exhibition project.
