The Russian language abroad: Russian authorities to promote Russian language in the world

The government will do everything possible to spread the Russian language and literature abroad, said State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin.

"The Russian government will do everything possible to support the spread of the Russian language, Russian literature outside the country. These are programs of humanitarian cooperation, programs of teaching in Russian in higher educational institutions, organizational, methodical support, partly as far as possible the financial support of Russian schools outside Russia", - said S. Naryshkin in the "PROchtenie" on the channel "Russia 24".

Chairman of the State Duma acknowledged that interest in the Russian language, the Russian literature in the world is big. "The interest in Russian language speaks more about the interest to the people of our country, the achievements, to its history. In order to better know all this, you need to be able to read books in Russian, and be able to speak in Russian", - he added.
