President of Russia: Vladimir Putin at the meeting of the State Council noted the need to modernize school education

Under the chairmanship of President of Russia Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin on December 23, 2015 his held a meeting of the State Council on the improvement of the general education system in the Russian Federation. 

The head of state said: "Now I would like to note the positive changes that have occurred in the field of education as a result of our joint work, what has been done.

It was still managed to improve the learning environment of children, not only in big cities but also in rural schools in the countryside. Now almost all the schools in Russia are connected to the Internet…

The school has modern facilities, gyms. The teaching profession is once again becoming a respected and prestigious, attractive and interesting for young professionals…

School education is one of the fundamental things. All we want, without exception, our children be better than we do. And for this we must provide them with an appropriate level of training in schools.

…I support the proposal of the working group of the State Council to set up a public e-school for every student of the country, which will house training materials and manuals, lectures of our renowned teachers and scientists, so that the student, the teacher has the opportunity to use the most modern information resources and tutorials. And for that, I ask to work out the issue of increasing the speed of Internet connection of institutions of general education".
