
President of Russia: Vladimir Putin took part in the first Russian forum “Internet Economics”
President of Russia Vladimir Putin took part in the first plenary session of the Russian Forum "Internet Economics".
The first Russian Forum "Internet Economics" is held on December 21-22, 2015 in Moscow. The plenary session, which was attended by representatives of the Russian IT-industry, relevant ministries and agencies, is dedicated to initiatives for long-term development of the Russian segment of the Internet and sectors of the economy, growing and developing with the use of Internet technologies.
Vladimir Putin, in his speech said that the Internet audience in Russia was the largest in Europe.
According to him, in recent years the Internet has firmly entered into the everyday and business life of Russia. "The Russian Federation is not far behind and does not remain aloof from global trends. Russian Internet audience is the largest in Europe, more than 80 million users, of which 62 million people go online every day", - said the head of state.
Vladimir Putin also stressed that all participants in the IT-market must be on an equal footing, adding that the Russian authorities think about how to support domestic companies.
