Information technology and culture: The round table “Multimedia opportunities in creating cultural-historical environment of monuments and the dive into the past era” in Saint-Petersburg

December 15, 2015 at the State Russian Museum within the IV Saint-Petersburg International Cultural Forum is held the round table “Multimedia opportunities in creating cultural-historical environment of monuments and the dive into the past era”.

The computer technology development contributed to the emergence of new opportunities and directions in the educational work of the museum. In line with the directives of UNESCO in digital preservation and the creation of equal opportunities to obtain information, regardless of where they live, the State Russian Museum, the possibility of using computer technology has opened access to its rich collection of objects of national art. A significant role in this is given to an extensive network of information-educational center "The State Russian Museum: the Virtual Branch" (more than 170 in Russia and abroad).

With the opening of the center "Electronic Russian Museum" in St. Petersburg there is the opportunity to more effectively coordinate the work of the virtual branches in the regions of the country through remote seminars, lectures of experts, as well as a demonstration at the site of the museum of contemporary art presentation capabilities through multimedia.
