Memorable dates of Russia: The Ulyanovsk region to become the main platform of festive events to the 250th birth anniversary of Nikolai Karamzin

The Ulyanovsk region will be the main venue of celebrations dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Karamzin. This decision was taken at a meeting of the All-Russian organizing committee, which was held in Ulyanovsk on December 12, 2015.

Members of the organizing committee discussed the details of Presidential Decree "On the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Karamzin" and questions to prepare a plan of major events approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation and presented a program of commemorative events in the Russian Federation in 2016.

In the Ulyanovsk region will be held more than 500 events. Important events will be the All-Russian Karamzin Assembly and the Day of Russia, called the Day of the Russian state".

Also as part of Karamzin Assembly will take place a series of events - the International Humanitarian Forum "Karamzin. Historian. Thinker. Patriot", the All-Russian scientific-practical conference "Karamzin readings", public lectures of famous Russian historians, scientists of Karamzin’s works, science and culture, presentation of the anthology "Poetry wreath to Karamzin".

"The Ulyanovsk region will be the base platform, methodical center for all regions to promote creativity of Karamzin", - said the director of the Department of Tourism and Regional Policy of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Yarilova.
