History and culture: The exhibition “Church vestment and church plate of the XVI-XIX centuries” in Kotlas

The regional museum of Kotlas (the Arkhangelsk region) on December 4, 2015 opened a unique exhibition "The church vestments and church plate of the XVI-XIX centuries", which provided exhibits for Solvychegodsk History and Art Museum. These are the gifts of major industrialists and patrons of the Stroganov family in monasteries and churches of the Solvychegodsk County. It has been survived amazing designs icons, embroideries, enamels of "Usolsk case".
The exhibition presents brocade and velvet church clothes, richly ornamented with gold sewing and painting, service silverware with enamel and niello inlays drawings, examples of the "Stroganov" embroideries.
The exposition is open until January 28, 2016.
