
To the Day of the Unknown Soldier: The historical and documentary exhibition “From the war to the peace: the return of soldiers” in Veliky Novgorod
To the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and the Day of the Unknown Soldier is dedicated the historical and documentary exhibition "From the war to peace: the return of soldiers," which is opened on December 3, 2015 in the reading room of the State Archive of Contemporary History of Novgorod Region (GANINO).
The exhibition includes three sections.
The first of them - "The demobilization of military personnel and work of military departments" - tells of the return of war veterans in the Novgorod land, organizing their reception and accommodation, employment and housing, political work with dropouts from the Red Army and demobilized.
In the section "Adaptation of soldiers into civilian life, ensuring of military families" are presented treatment of servicemen and their families on various social issues: payment of benefits, assistance in providing food, clothing, building a house. The exhibition also features the documents of the bodies authorized to engage in welfare families of servicemen and partisans of war invalids, demobilized soldiers. Also of interest are the documents related to the provision of families of Heroes of the Soviet Union in the Novgorod region, some of the famous military leaders.
The section "Participants of the Great Patriotic War: photographs and memories" contain memories and photographs of the war, including the founders of the fund GANINO.
The exhibition features about 150 photos of archival documents and documents from collections of GANINO, personal archives.
