Exhibitions: Works of Soviet art are presented at the exhibition in Geneva

The exhibition of works of art of famous Soviet artists "Back in the USSR" was opened in the gallery Contrast.Art.Gallery in Geneva.

More than 30 exhibits for the period from 1931 to the present day are the owner of a private collection of Gallery of Victoria Desyatkina.

Among the works of art - photography and formal portraits of Soviet leaders, posters and reprints of the Great Patriotic War, embroidery, secret documents, and the banner of the republics of the Soviet Union.

Among the exhibited works of art, there are the famous posters by artist Irakli Toidze, including a reprint of his most famous works - "For the Motherland", used by Soviet propaganda during the Great Patriotic War.

According to Desyatkina, despite the severe restrictions that have been imposed on artists in the USSR, the Soviet era was the ancestor of a wide variety of genres - from the Russian avant-garde to socialist realism and non-conformism. That is why this period left for our contemporaries such a rich creative heritage.

The exhibition "Back in the USSR" will be open until December 24 at Contrast.Art.Gallery.
