History of Russia: The exhibition “Father of all the cadets” to the centenary of the death of Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich in Saint-Petersburg

November 25, 2015 at the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Signal Corps (St. Petersburg) took place the opening of the exhibition "Father of all the cadets", dedicated to the centenary anniversary of the death of Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich (Romanov).

Konstantin Konstantinovich was born in 1858, served in the Navy, the Life Guards in Izmailovo and the Preobrazhensky Regiment. In 1900 he was appointed chief commander of military educational institutions of the Russian Empire. Subsequently he became inspector general of military schools and served in that position until the end of life.

The exhibition presents memorial items – awards by grand Konstantin Konstantinovich, photos and documents with his autographed, badges and tokens of military schools, subjects uniforms of various military schools of the late XIX - early XX century, models of weapons. Exhibits were also the work of the cadets, awards, albums cadet donated to Konstantin Konstantinovich and his sons-Cadets. For the first time on display their full-color porcelain sculpture from the series "The Cadets of Russia" by the author G. V. Andronov. 

Totally more than hundred exhibits from the museum collection are on display.
