Museums abroad: New expositions to be open in the branch of the State Russian Museum in Spain

January 28, 2016 the first European foreign branch of the State Russian Museum in the Spanish Malaga will open the exhibitions "Seasons" and "Jack of Diamonds".

The exhibition "Seasons" shows the history of the development of the domestic landscape: before residents and guests of Malaga will be deployed spring, summer, autumn and winter in the paintings of famous Russian and Soviet artists of the XVIII-XXI centuries. In their creativity in an original way were reflected the basic stages in the development of European painting: classicism and romanticism, realism and impressionism, symbolism and abstraction. 

Among 89 works, presented at the exhibition, are such acknowledged masterpieces as "Overgrown Pond" (1880) by Vasily Polenov, "Winter" (1890) by Ivan Shishkin, "Rainbow" (1900-1905) by Arkhip Kuindzhi, "Carnival" (1916) by Boris Kustodiev, "Expanse" (1944) by Alexander Deineka, "Noon" (1961) by Arcady Plastov, as well as paintings by Alexei Savrasov, Isaac Levitan, Gregory Myasoedov, Ilya Repin, Konstantin Korovin, Kazimir Malevich, Igor Grabar and others.  

The exhibition will run until January 29, 2017.

The exhibition "Jack of Diamonds" presents 55 works of art. Among them the most famous paintings are by founders and leaders of this original creative association in 1910s Ilya Mashkov, Pyotr Konchalovsky, Aristarkh Lentulov, Robert Falk, as well as works of participants of the exhibition "Jack of Diamonds" (1910), reflecting the first stage in the development of Russian avant-garde: Natalia Goncharova and Mikhail Larionov, Olga Rozanova and Kazimir Malevich. In addition, the exhibition will feature works of folk arts and crafts of the XIX-XX centuries, which were a source of inspiration for creative searches of participants of "The Jack of Diamonds".

The exhibition will run until July 10, 2016.
