Society and church: XXVI International Christmas Educational Readings in Moscow

The XXIV International Christmas Educational Readings are held in Moscow from January 25 to 27, 2016. The theme of Readings – “Tradition and notations: culture, society, personality”. 

International Christmas Educational Readings - church-public forum in the field of education, culture, social service and spiritual and moral education; held in Moscow under the honorary chairmanship of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, and collect more than five thousand participants.

January 27, 2016 in the framework of the XXIV International Christmas Educational Readings in the Hall of Church Councils of Christ the Savior will be held a conference “Russia and the Holy Mount Athos. Tradition and Modernity”. The event is dedicated to the 1000th anniversary of Russian monastic presence on the Mount Athos.

The conference will consider a long tradition, experience and perspectives of cultural and spiritual co-work with the Russian Orthodox Church and the monks of Mount Athos - the earthly inheritance of the Mother of God. The Conference aims to indicate the importance of preserving the patristic heritage and passing it on to future generations.
