Society and culture: Masterpieces of portrait panting are presented at the exhibition “A View for the Past” in Tsarskoye Selo
January 22, 2016 at the Museum-Rreserve "Tsarskoye Selo" (St. Petersburg) is held a press preview of the exhibition "A View from the Past" - masterpieces of portraiture from the collection of the family Karisalov".
The exhibition presents masterpieces of portraiture from the collection of the family Karisalov. Among them - the portraits of the XVIII-XIX centuries artists such as Dmitry Levitsky, Vladimir Borovikovsky, father and son Lumpy, Orest Kiprensky, Karl Briullov, Vasily Tropinin. Some of the works have never before been exhibited to the public. The first antechambers of the Catherine Palace are exhibited items, donated or purchased with the support of Mikhail Yurevich Karisalov - a member of the Club of Friends of the Museum-Reserve "Tsarskoye Selo", patron of the museum.
The exhibition will be open until January 23.
