History of Russia: "A Diary of the Epoch" exhibition in Moscow

"A Diary of the Epoch" exhibition of Moscow artist Evgeny Rastorguev opened of February 20, 2016, at the "Vlakhernskoe-Kuzminki" Museum of Golitsyn Estate (Moscow).

The long life of the artist (he would have turned 96 on February 23) has passed in Moscow, and the country's history of the second half of the XX century can be found reflected in his works.

Today the artist's pieces are in the Tretyakov Gallery and other major museums, as well as in private collections and in the family archive. Some works presented at the exhibition are displayed for wide public for the first time.

The exhibition at the "Vlakhernskoe-Kuzminki" Museum of Golitsyn Estate presents a multi-faceted creative work of the artist, who went through many ordeals, hopes and reconsidering his views - a creative way, which deeply connected with a history of our country. The audience will see the paintings (portraits, landscapes, still-lives) at the exhibition. A separate section of the exposition, filled with pencil drawings depicting the “freeze frames” from the front life, is devoted to the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45.
