The Year of Russian Cinema-2016: The exhibition “Moscow of three Alexandrovs – photographers and director” is opened in the capital

Within the framework of the Year of Russian cinema and a parallel program of the International Festival "Biennale 2016" in the Shchusev State Museum of Architecture is opened the exhibition "Moscow of three Alexandrovs - photographers and director", which is attended by cinema concern "Mosfilm".

The majestic panorama of Moscow, iconic city buildings, streets and yards, manors and mansions - are on display at the old photos. Due to footage from the film, shot by director Grigory Alexandrov, museum visitors will see Moscow as festive and everyday, lyrical and vague, and most importantly - the same as it appeared in the films of the time.

"Types of old Moscow has always attracted people, - says curator of the project Maria Rogozina. - In our project, we try to capture views of the city for almost a century: from 1890 to 1980s. At that time, there were two perfect photographers namesake Ivan and Alexei Alexandrov. The first one did views of the city at the turn of the XIX and XX centuries, the second worked during the "Khrushchev thaw".

Period of 1930-1950s is presented at the exhibition by film director Grigory Alexandrov. The exhibition includes images from the film "Jolly Fellows", "Circus", "Shining Path", "Spring", "Russian souvenir".

The exhibition is held with the participation of the film concern "Mosfilm" and the State Archive of the Russian Federation (State Archive).
