Internet and culture: The Virtual Museum of New Western Art to be a feature of the Pushkin Museum

The Virtual State Museum of New Western Art after the elimination of which in 1948 the works of the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists from the pre-revolutionary collections of Sergei Shchukin and Ivan Morozov were divided between the Pushkin Museum and the Hermitage can be the feature of the Moscow museum. This was told at the board meeting of the Ministry of Culture by the head of department Vladimir Medinsky.

"Taking into account the efforts that have been spent on the creation of this website, it will be extremely popular and may be the feature of the museum", - said V. Medinsky.

Director of the Pushkin Museum Marina Loshak told that the project was currently enrolled in museum management, and have a team that would continue to engage in the museum’s website. According to her, developing the concept of the project, which "the most powerful way" will be soon supported by the exhibition in Paris Foundation Louis Vuitton, dedicated to Sergei Shchukin and his collection.
