
World history: The exhibition “The First World War in documents of the Russian State Library of Arts” in Belgrade
February 17, 2016 in the Russian House in Belgrade (Serbia) is opening the exhibition "The First World War in documents of the Russian State Library of Arts".
The First World War - is the first war in the history of mankind, which is embodied with such incredible detail in newsreels and photographs. Moreover, it left a lot of propaganda material, reflecting the perception of war by different sectors of society, and especially the national nature of the warring parties.
The exposition includes propaganda postcards of England, France, Belgium, Austria-Hungary and the Russian Empire.
Illustrated postcards, posters and other visual materials are clearly familiar with the participating countries, representing the personality of tsars and rulers, flags and anthems, the purposes and means of the opposing sides.
The exposition is accompanied by unique newsreels of 1914-1918.
