The State Darwin Museum (Moscow) since February 16, 2016 presents the exhibition "Polar expedition: step by step".
The exhibition at the Darwin Museum is devoted to the complex Arctic expedition, organized by the cultural and educational and research project "Gallery Polar expedition" in cooperation with the Centre for Marine Studies at the Moscow State University. In July - September 2015 the Northern Sea Route proceeded research vessel "Kartesh" with a team of scientists and a group of landscape photographers. Participants partly repeated the route of the famous expedition of polar explorer Georgy Sedov to the North Pole, and in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of its return established a memorial cross in the tract Rynda on the Kola Peninsula.
Within three months, the scientists of the Center of Marine Studies of the Moscow State University in collaboration with the experts of the Regional Public Organization "Marine Mammal Council" and the Barents Sea branch of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) investigated the northern seas. The photos of the project "Gallery Polar expedition" tried to capture the beauty of the pristine Arctic. At polar stations and settlements on the coast of the Arctic Ocean for the inhabitants of the Far North were organized photo exhibitions dedicated to the nature of central Russia. At the exhibition in Moscow Visitors of the Darwin Museum will see the Arctic scenes, will feel the pulse of a distant life.
