Book publishing and book distribution: The 25th Annual International Book Fair in Havana

From 11 to 21 February 2016 in Havana, in the historical fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña, is held the 25th Annual International Book Fair, the theme of which is "To Read - to Grow Up".

Havana Book Fair - one of the largest book fairs in the world and the most important events in the publishing world of Latin America. According to organizers, this year is expected the arrival of participants from 25 countries.

The guest of honor of the fair is the Eastern Republic of Uruguay. The fair is dedicated to the centenary of the birth of the Cuban writer Jose Soler Puig, the 60th anniversary of the landing of the yacht "Granma" and the 130th anniversary of the abolition of slavery in Cuba.

Traditionally Russia is among the invited to participate. Guests of the exhibition will continue acquaintance with the Russian literature: classical and modern. Visitors of the fair who are interested in Russian classics will hear the story of the writer, literary critic Paul Basinsky, author of the famous book "Leo Tolstoy. Escape from Paradise", about the unknown pages of the life and works of Leo Tolstoy.

In the pavilion, to secure for Russia since 2010, when it was the guest of honor at the Havana Fair, within the national stand of the program Los Libros de Rusia (“Books of Russia”) was presented more than 350 titles of books in Russian, and Spanish. 

In addition to traditional textbooks and dictionaries, modern and classic literature, art books and publications for children, this time is clearly represented a series of poetic.

Within the framework of the Russian program will be held public lectures, round-table discussions about book publishing, as well as the presentation of the Moscow International Book Fair and the St. Petersburg Book Fair, which will be available including video format and in the form of information booklets.

Traditional became a children's drawing contest among school children "I draw Russia". Members of the Russian delegation prepared a program of acquainting children with the most interesting sights of Russia - their impressions the young participants will give through drawings.
