Memory of Russia: Events in memory of F. M. Dostoevsky are held in Staraya Russa

February 9, 2016 in Staraya Russa are held events dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the death of Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

By long tradition, they begin with a memorial service in the church of St. Great Martyr. George. Then will be held meeting in memory of the great Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky at the monument to the writer, set next to the church, which will be attended by museum workers, representatives of the city administration, teachers and students of old Russian schools.

In the House museum of Fyodor Dostoyevsky will be opened two exhibitions: "Dedicated to 35th anniversary of the Fyodor Dostoevsky Home-Museum" and "F. M. Dostoevsky in Staraya Russa. Materials and Research".

The Fyodor Dostoevsky House-Museum in Staraya Russa turns thirty-five years, May 4, 2016. The exhibition dedicated to this anniversary, is opened as part of the Remembrance Day of the writer on 9 February. Its topic is associated with the history of Dostoevsky House, as well as the history and activities of the museum. The exhibition features 113 items, some of which - photographs and postcards from the collection of Old Russian researcher period of the life and work of Fyodor Dostoyevsky Leo Reynus. For the first time personal belongings of the founder of the Museum of Dostoevsky in Staraya Russa George Ivanovich Smirnov are exhibited. It also presented a literary composition "Women's images in the context of the fate and work of Fyodor Dostoevsky".
