Museums abroad: The State Russian Museum to open a branch in Cuba this year

The Russian Museum plans to open a branch in Havana, capital of Cuba this year. It will be located in the former building of the Ministry of Finance.

According to representatives of the museum it is currently conducted the joint work with the Government of Cuba to prepare a draft on the transfer of the building to the museum in a long-term unpaid rent.

Branch office in Havana will be the largest center of Russian culture and art in Latin America, where the collection will be presented not only in the museum space for visitors to the museum, ad will also organize various electronic projects, children's projects, will open a school for restorers of Cuban specialists. Museum officials did not rule out the possibility of projects in cooperation with other art museums of Russia.

In addition to real missions around the world, there are virtual branches of the State Russian Museum. Currently, there are 174 information and educational center of the Russian Museum on different continents, including Antarctica. 16 informational and educational centers "The State Russian Museum: the Virtual Branch" are opened in Rossotrudnichestvo representative offices in China, Slovenia, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Finland, Germany, Turkey, Chile, Romania, as well as in several countries of the CIS.
