From February 5 to April 10, 2016 in Suzdal, in the Gallery of the Transfiguration Cathedral St. Euthymius Monastery is held an exhibition "Returned to life by the hands of restorers".
The exhibition is devoted to the work of the personnel of the restoration department of the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve in the past 10 years.
In the gallery of the cathedral is presented 59 artistic and historical monuments, including archaeological finds, paintings and icons, books and documents, religious objects, clothing and jewelry, and various household items. They were restored by specialists in tempera and oil painting, metal, fabric, wood, paper and porcelain.
The proposed exhibition allows you to illuminate the complex creative process of the restoration of the museum, which often is an art. It will be the continuation of the building of the monastery located in Bratsk housing the museum exposition "Winning time…", where in the open restoration workshop of the museum literally in front of the visitors there is a revival to the life of museum items.
Currently, there are 18 museums restorers of different specialization (of which 7 - in Suzdal branch). During 2015 they restored 1702 museum objects. Most of the personnel are graduates of the restoration department of art-Suzdal school of restoration.
