History and culture: The exhibition “Mozart: To the anniversary of the great composer” is opened at the Russian State Library

In the department of printed music and sound recordings of the Russian State Library opened the exhibition "Mozart: To the anniversary of the great composer (1756-1791)", dedicated to 260th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The basis of the exhibition was the idea to show the early works of the master.

In the preparation of the exhibition in the department of printed music publications of the RSL they decided to stay at the old printed editions from the special fund of the department, which stores the most valuable and rare notes. Mozart's legacy among the rarities is presented in 325 publications which were published from 1765 to 1825. Directly for the exhibition it has been selected his lifetime publications - sixteen notes. They were added with three collections, which were issued shortly after the composer's death. Nine of these publications are the first, so that they are the most noteworthy. The exhibition also includes three editions, dating from the time intervals of a few years, including those times when the composer was alive. All the collected notes are foreign.

The exhibition is open until March 20.
