Information technology and culture: Nizhny Novgorod libraries to digitize all the works by Maxim Gorky to the 150th anniversary of the writer

Nizhny Novgorod Administration in 2016 will buy a special scanner to digitize a unique collection of rare books. In addition, on the eve of the 150th anniversary of Maxim Gorky, which will be celebrated in 2018, it will be carried out the digitization of all the works of the writer.

According to the director of the Lenin Central City Library Tamara Yakunina in the library fund there are 14,500 rare books, 85 of them are literary monuments that is they are issued until 1830. She noted that in order to unique publications were available to the greatest possible range of writers it is necessary modern equipment to digitize library collections and the inclusion in the national e-library.
