Libraries and society: The Library of Foreign Literature in Moscow hosted the presentation of Frankotech

The M. I. Rudomino Library for Foreign Literature (Moscow) hosted a presentation of the first common space of French-speaking countries in Russia - "Frankotech".

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Russia Jean-Maurice Ripert, speaking about the purpose of opening Frankotech, noted that the French-speaking countries in collaboration with the Library of Foreign Literature seek "to open a live cultural center, where all the Francophonie will be represented through literature, art, science and the French language".

Frankotech will provide opportunities for learning the French language, culture, literature, art, educational and tourism opportunities in countries where French is the official language, or is use by a large part of the population.

The center is located in a specially equipped reading room of the Library of Foreign Literature. Funds for readers will be available, which show the artistic, scientific, educational literature, electronic and multimedia resources, periodicals and special editions Foreign women" readers.

The participants expressed their intention to pay great attention to software contents of Francotech activities with the participation of well-known cultural figures of literature and art of French-speaking countries: lectures, workshops, concerts, scientific seminars, round tables. The event organization will actively include embassies and cultural institutes of the member countries of the International Organization of La Francophonie, educational and governmental organizations.

The opening of the center is scheduled on mid 2016.
