History of Russia: The TASS photo exhibition “Three Colors of Crimea” in Nizhny Manege in Moscow

In the New Manege (Moscow) from 17 to 24 March 2016 is held TASS photo exhibition "Three Colors of Crimea", dedicated to the second anniversary of the Republic of Crimea joining Russia.

The exhibition presents more than 200 works. Chronologically, the photo exhibition is divided into three periods.

Archived images of TASS tell about the history of Crimea from the beginning of the 1900s until the mid-1980s of the XX century. Here you can see pictures of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II and the royal family; classics of Russian and Soviet literature, Leo Tolstoy, Anton Chekhov and Maxim Gorky; Future designer of space rocketry Sergei Korolev with the first Soviet glider Constantine Artseulov; the liberation of Crimea from Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War; participants of the Yalta Conference and others. The images of post-war years will show Crimea as the largest health resort, historical, cultural, defense and scientific center of the USSR.

Two other sections will acquaint the audience with today peninsula, its great potential and prospects.

Modern images of photojournalists TASS were made in 2015 in the course of the four large-scale expeditions in Crimea, held in the framework of the special project of the same name TASS.

Heroes of stories became big cities and picturesque seaside villages, monuments and historic sites, nature reserves and fascinating beauty of the sea, bays and coves, lighthouses and the observatory, and even people - inhabitants of Crimea and tourists.

In addition to photos of TASS, the exhibition also demonstrates the work of photographer Anton Lange, made by him specially for the agency.
