History and culture: The photo exhibition “Flying Through Time” in Moscow

The exhibition center "Worker and kolkhoz woman" will introduce visitors the exhibition "Flying Through Time" - a photographic chronicle of our country, in different parts of which it was possible to visit an outstanding photojournalist Yuri Vasilievich Abramochkin. Retrospective project is timed to the 55th anniversary of creative activity and the 80th anniversary of the brilliant Soviet photo reporter, a member of the Press Agency "News" - one of the largest news agencies in the world.

The fate of half a century has thrown Abramochkin in the "Kremlin pool" of photojournalists, and provided an opportunity to drive around with the camera halfway around the world. His photographs - eight leaders of our country and many foreign leaders: Richard Nixon, Yasser Arafat, Elizabeth II, Fidel Castro, Margaret Thatcher. Yuri Gagarin is smiling on his pictures.

The exhibition consists of several thematic collections, the main - "Soviet genre" and Gagarin, then - a portrait gallery of the world's politicians and cultural figures. Special attention is given to a selection of images of foreign authors who were not exposed to the show for more than thirty years. The retrospective is completed with snapshots of the master.

Photos by Abramochkin are accompanied by small stories about the heroes of the pictures. The main exhibition is located in the halls of the 2nd and 3rd floor of the exhibition center, and resents the main pictures in the original, vintage design (silver-gelatin prints). The exhibition is supplemented with exhibits from his personal archive - personal photographic equipment, accreditations for various events, iconic journal publications and a video interview with his participation.
