Information technology and culture: Posters from the Bolshoi Theatre collection are digitized

More than 11 000 posters from the Bolshoi Theatre collection (Moscow) are converted in to digital form.

Posters, dated XIX-XX centuries, not only to reflect the history of the Bolshoi, but are tangible evidence of the development of theatrical art in Russia and Europe. Electronic copies of posters, according to museum personnel, will be used to reprint and research work. High quality digital images created using special equipment, provides full transfer of texture of the paper, colors, every detail of historical originals.

Large-format, more than A0, documents, many of which are in poor condition, are digitized by experts ELAR on a set of high-quality scan of the brand "PauerSkan", which is also used for the digitization of cultural objects and art in the State Hermitage Museum, the State Literary Museum, the State Historical Museum, the Polytechnical Museum and other Russian institutions.
