World culture: The exhibition of Roman sculpture from Morocco to be open in Moscow

March 17, 2016 in the 24 hall of the main building of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts will be open the exhibition "Roman sculpture of Volubilis (Morocco)" timed to the visit to Moscow of the King of Morocco Mohammed VI.

The exhibition features works from the collection of the Archaeological Museum of Rabat, including two marble statues - "Lying Papposilen" and "River god", as well as several bronze figures. Among them - the sculptures of dogs and horses, performed with the inherent taste of the Roman interest in nature; boys figure committing a libation, and the old man statue, characteristic of Hellenistic Alexandria (II-I centuries BC). It is worth noting, the found in the "House of Venus" (which were opened and other bronze) the portrait bust of Cato the Younger.

The exhibition will run till April 17, 2016.
