The Presidential Library: New acquisitions

The Presidential Library collection National Periodicals has been enriched with "Works by the Orenburg scientific archive committee", magazines "Threads of Life" and "Economics and Statistics of Karelia". Publications are provided by the State Public Historical Library and the National Library of the Republic of Karelia.  

Proceedings of the Orenburg Scientific Archive Commission was released in issues in certain periods from 1889 to 1917 in Orenburg and Ufa. In total 35 issues. The first issue came out under the name "Archive of the former management of the Orenburg governor-general". Circulation: 350-500 copies. The focus of the "Works" was given to the publication of documentary, ethnographic, archaeological and other materials on the history of the Orenburg region - reports on the activities of Archives Commission; government decrees relating to the control device and the Orenburg region; Research on the role of the Orenburg region in the development and implementation of Russian policy toward the East, in the development of economic and cultural understanding of peoples of Russia, Kazakhstan and Central Asia; materials of archaeological research on the territory of the region, and others. Content Index of all previously published issues is placed in the publication, starting with the issue 10 (1903). To date, at the portal it is available issues during the period from 1897 to 1917.

The weekly edition Threads of Life came out in St. Petersburg in 1906-1907. Editor of the magazine was Lev Naumovich Kleynbort by publisher O. N. Popov. Issue number of output capacity from 20 to 100 pages, and could include the release 1-3. There are 19 issues. Each issue is a separate brochure on social and political issues. Among the authors were A. V. Lunacharsky, P. P. Maslov, M. I. Bogolepov, A. E. Yelnitskiy, P. P. Rumyantsev and others. Content Index is placed in issues №№ 14 and 19 (1906). To date, the portal presents the issues for 1906 and 1907.       

The publication of the Planning Commission and the Statistical Office of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic of Karelia Economics and Statistics of Karelia was released in issues, in vague terms, from 1925 to 1928 in Petrozavodsk. The magazine was also published in the Karelian language. Since 1929 it appeared under the title "Soviet Karelia". Editorial Board: E. A. Gylling, B. A. Potapov, V. I. Krylov and other published local history materials in the magazine (including - Society for the Study of Karelia), statistical data. The text is printed in parallel in the Finnish and Russian languages. At the moment, the portal is available issues during the period from 1925 to 1928.
