The Year of Cinema 2016: The State Tretyakov Gallery launches a screening program

The State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow) opens on March 5, 2016, the film screening program dedicated to the Year of the Russian Cinema 2016.

Throughout an entire 2016th Year of the Russian Cinema the State Tretyakov Gallery, like many other museums in the country, will be screening a series of movie programs, representing the remarkable achievements of domestic and world cinema.

The program of regular screenings at the Tretyakov Gallery will open with the world famous movie, a recognized flagship in our cinematography history - "Battleship Potemkin" by Sergei Mikhailovich Eisenstein (Sovkino 1925, 75 min.).

Now marks the 90th anniversary of the release of the movie in Moscow theaters first and then in the whole world - the event that has become a decisive milestone in the recognition of cinematography as a full-fledged art form.
