History of Saint-Petersburg: The catalogue “Leningrad “Windows TASS 1941-1945”

March 3, 2016 in the Department of Prints of the National Library of Russia (St. Petersburg) will be held a presentation of the catalog "Leningrad "TASS Windows 1941-1945".

The catalog is a collection of posters of Leningrad "Window TASS", housed in the Department of Prints of NLR and the most complete information about the posters, description and reproduction of cartoon, created using a stencil and printed by lithographic printing method or sheet.

Thanks to the catalog for the first time in a scientific revolution is introduced a wide array of visual and documentary information.

The author of the introductory article - Inna Vasilievna Selivanova, a researcher at the besieged period of the Leningrad branch of TASS, the daughter of one of the authors of "Windows" Vasily Selivanov. The publication contains an alphabetical index of the names of posters creators - artists, songwriters, photographers and managers of the Leningrad branch of TASS and brief bibliographic references.  

Catalog is built in chronological release of posters, allowing more significantly present in the life of Leningrad during the blockade, associate city defense history with the development of the Great Patriotic War events. The descriptions that accompany each poster make it possible to see the evolution of the visual language of posters created in the period from 24 June 1941 until November 1945, to trace the nature of the manners of each artist.

The catalogue is released by the materials of the jubilee exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which took place in the Department of Prints.

The book is intended for a wide range of readers, as well as for specialists - art historians, historians, ethnographers.
