Information technology and education: System “Electronic institution” will bring together military institutions, research organizations and libraries

Students and cadets of military schools will learn to use e-books from September 1, 2016, said Minister of Defence of Russia, Army General Sergei Shoigu on a conference call.

Electronic textbooks are an important component of the "E-university" system, that combines military educational institutions, research organizations and libraries, said Shoigu.

The Minister stressed that the use of electronic textbooks would increase the intensity of the learning process and will improve the quality of military education.

"Currently, there is a rapid pace of media-rich information. Since September 1 this year, training of students and cadets of military schools will be implemented using e-books", - the minister said.
