Memory of the world: The photo project “Mount Athos” in Moscow

The photo project by Vladimir Orlov "Mount Athos", dedicated to the 1000th anniversary of Russian presence on Mount Athos, is represented in the Association "Photo Center" in Moscow.

The photo project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Russia and is held in the framework of cross Year of Russia and Greece.

The exhibition aims to convey the multiplicity and richness of the monastic life. The exhibition presents the photographic material of the two trips. All pictures are black and white.

"Athos experienced different periods of life. There was flourishing, decline, the looting and there was the presence of the German fascist troops. Everything was there. But, at the same time, it should be noted that Athos live was always renewed and revived", - says the press-secretary of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, the priest Alexander Volkov.
