Memory of the world: The exhibition “Chernobyl. Test Days” to the 30th anniversary of the catastrophe at the Chernobyl NPP in Moscow

April 21, 2016 at the Museum of Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia (Moscow) is opened the exhibition "Chernobyl. Test Days" to mark the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.

30 years ago, April 26, 1986 there was one of the worst man-made disasters in history - the accident at Unit 4 of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The scale of the tragedy could become immeasurably greater if not for the selfless actions of the liquidators, who performed his duty, in spite of the invisible enemy - radiation. In the period from 1986 to 1990 to work in the Chernobyl zone were involved thousands of scientists and specialists, workers and soldiers from all republics of the Soviet Union, 14 of them were awarded the title of Hero Secular Union, Hero of the Russian Federation and the Hero of Socialist Labor.

The basis of the exhibition - the personal belongings of participants of liquidation of consequences of the Chernobyl accident. Of particular interest is the archive of previously unpublished photographs of the Chernobyl belonging to the head of the Civil Defense of the USSR, Hero of the Soviet Union V. L. Govorov.

The exhibition is organized with the participation of the Central Museum of EMERCOM and is open until 31 July 2016.
