Exhibitions: The exposition, dedicated to the works of Valentine Serov, in the Museum-Reserve “Abramtsevo”

In the Museum-Reserve "Abramtsevo" (the Moscow region) on April 15, 2016 was opened an exhibition "Milusha - portrait of a girl by Serov".

The heroine of the portrait by Valentin Serov, written in 1884 – is Lyudmila Anatolievna, niece of Savva Ivanovich Mamontov. Milusha - affectionate name by which he called the girl friends of the family. Something about this girl attracted the artist Serov and returned several times to the writing of her image.

Visitors of the exhibition will have the opportunity to see unique pictures of the time, graphics and paintings by V. A. Serov, A. A. Kiselev, brothers V. M. and A. M. Vasnetsov, M. A. Mamontov, which depicted Milusha and her next of kin. For the first time the public will be able to familiarize themselves with stored in the museum-reserve "Abramtsevo" album of artist training patterns by I. S. Ostroukhov, which in the 1880s was closely associated with the family A. I. Mamontov – Milusha’s father. The exhibition also demonstrates the photo albums and heirlooms belonging to the descendants of L. A. Mamontova, including personal belongings of Milusha.
